Seeing the Extraordinary in the Ordinary
Christian wall art to remind us to be intentional in looking for God and what He is communicating to us. We can ‘see’ things, but not really ‘look.’ Many probably walked passed Jesus, not realizing they were walking passed the Messiah, the Son of God, God in the flesh. The saw him, but did not recognize it was him.
The inspiration behind this painting is from a time when I would walk past these hedges in my neighborhood. I’ve passed by them many times. I’ve seen them, but I haven’t really ‘looked’ at them. One day, when I did, I noticed beautiful painterly looking colors on the leaves. Yes, these are leaves, not petals. It could look like flowers. Shades of pink, red, greens, and purples looked splattered on them by someone. I was drawn by its beauty and the Lord showed me how I can sometimes miss things if I am not really looking. May this art piece be a reminder of that – to not miss the extraordinary in our ordinary day life.
“Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.’”
